Our craft sessions incorporate puppet making and traditional Chinese Coin Trees. Masks are decorated too yet still allowing time for discussions and recording.
The workshop climaxes with the waving of flags and fans, loudly rolling monkey drums and parading and dancing with our very friendly dragon. This truly brings the festival to life. |
Chinese New Year comes with plenty of colour and noise - and so do our Chinese New Year workshops! Celebrated in February, this very important ancient festival is a time for family reunions and to welcome in another year, blessing each other with long life and prosperity. Our Chinese New Year workshops focus on the traditional story of the Chinese Zodiac where the children take delight in finding out their characteristics according to the animal that represents their year. We continue by sharing food, giving red packet gifts and playing games, whilst introducing Chinese culture and traditions. |
